The Bay Area Urban Areas Security Initiative

Risk Management & Infrastructure Protection

The risk management and infrastructure protection program identifies and catalogs threats to critical infrastructure, calculates the region’s abilities to counter those threats, and provides a risk-based methodology for prioritizing future investments.

Proactive and coordinated efforts are necessary to strengthen and maintain secure, functioning, and resilient critical infrastructure – including assets, networks, and systems – that are vital to public confidence and the region’s safety, prosperity, and well-being.

To guide the Bay Area UASI in its efforts to identify critical capability gaps, sophisticated risk management technology is utilized to determine priority capability objectives for regional investments.
